Our favorite dish at Local Oceans is back on the menu again. Grilled Hoisin Blackcod is so delicious. A little sweet, savory and tangy hoisin sauce with asparagus, green beans, oranges, shiitake mushrooms, onions, red bell pepper, yakisoba noddles and sesame seeds. Cooked perfectly with a good crunch on asparagus and beans. Mushroom perfect texture. And the boat to plate fresh blackcod (sable fish) is moist, flaky and falls apart with the touch of a fork. It contains levels of heart healthy and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids slightly higher than wild salmon. Way to cook it up kitchen team. Tasty! Healthy! Favorite dish on the menu for us!

Great Experience @ Local Ocean Seafoods in Newport, OR. !! We were warmly greeted upon entry on a Thursday to enjoy 'Eat Like a Local' lunch special. Our server, Isabelle, was wonderful throughout our time here. She let us old friends catch up without feeling like we needed to leave in a timely manner. Our food was fresh, delicious, and flavorful. Our drinks were refilled. The restaurant itself was small, but good use of space. The floor to ceiling windows was appealing, but was a nuisance when having to avoid gradual sun in face if seated by the windows, so keep that in mind. Overall great experience. Thank you.

Seafood done responsibly and sustainably, with a smile! I enjoy that you can see the whole crew for this establishment, from the head chef to the fish monger. Always fresh and full of flavor. You can even grab a spot with a view of the bay and bridge:)

This is my husbands favorite restaurant and every year we make the 3 hour drive to come here and it is WORTH it. We've eaten here 6 or 7 times and every time is better than the last. I highly recommend the Brazilian stew and calamari salad and of course the oysters are always good. Yes, there is a 20% out on your bill but it makes sense. The service is incredible. They go above and beyond and this extra charge insures the kitchen and other employees get tipped also.

Really fresh raw oysters, great tasting fish tacos, and delicious razor clam chowder. Service was good. Think of the upstairs seating area as nice dining with harbor views.

This was a nice local seafood place in Newport, Oregon. White right on the harbor front across from all the ocean going fishing vessels. They have an upstairs and downstairs. I would suggest taking the upstairs for a better view. They have a full bar which was nice. The chowder was good. I seafood was very nice and they had a very nice service atmosphere there. Seems like an older crowd here, but perhaps that's just the way Newport is built

This came highly recommended by a friend. We made reservations as they were suggested. This was a great idea as even on a Sunday night around 5 PM they were still pretty full. Some of the walk-in people behind us were quoted a 30-minute wait which is still not terrible but better to go in prepared if you can. I ordered an amazing seafood salad and we had crab cakes for an appetizer. The food is fantastic and well prepared. The service was on point and very helpful. This was our anniversary and we had an upstairs table with a view of the harbor so it was great to watch the start of the setting sun while dining. We were too full for the desserts but perhaps next time. I took half of my seafood salad home with me and had it for lunch the next day. Still great! I highly recommend it. Or like Janet says-why did I recommend this place sshhh. Keep it a secret.

Yum!!! One of my favorite stops on our trip to the coast. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The bay shrimp yakisoba noodle salad had a great umami flavor and sooo fresh. The garlic crab bisque had very large portions of crab. Summarily, the crab poyboy was incredible. Great pieces of crab, fresh bread, and an amazing tangy slaw. We sat right by the window and had a beautiful view of the bay, serenaded by sea lions in the background :) Staff were very friendly, service was very fast. Parking was a little tricky, but we found a paid parking spot down the road. I would definitely make a reservation, because even for a weekday lunch they were busy!
